Cantadora Journal © Keeper Of The Old Stories
Updates April 2006
Hello Everyone, This is an update rather than an actual Cantadora Journal © edition. Many wonderful events have taken place since the last Journal and that is the reason that another issue has not come out yet. Among the blessings is the launching and growth of a new business (more on that at a later date) and the creation of a monthly gathering of WyseWomen in the St. Croix Valley area of Wisconsin (that's northwestern Wisconsin for those of you not from the area). The gatherings offer a wonderful place for women of diverse backgrounds and interest, as well as age, 30.'s to 70's (so far) to come together and support one another. What we all share in common is our desire to share our journeys with other women. Myself and my co-leader, Kris Miner (http://www.circlespace.org) hold the rim and space of the circle using the principles of Circle as used by Christina Baldwin http://www.peerspirit.com and Restorative Justice Practices. Our first gathering was thirteen women strong and our most recent we gathered with eight. No matter the number, each gathering includes nurture, support, care, compassion, play, sharing, and honoring one another on our paths. Kris and I each bring unique backgrounds and experience as Circle Leaders. My background includes over 24 years in holistic health and wellness, including therapeutic massage, Reiki, Shamanistic teaching, training and healing, and life coaching, and co-founding The Chicago Coaching Alliance. I've also traveled the country and co-facilitated programs called PlayShops. Programs that afforded opportunities for rich personal growth through a variety on experimental activities. Kris's background includes her work for the St Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program as it's Director, Community Trainer, Restorative Justice/Circles/Victim Offender Dialog and Restorative Process Facilitator, Amicus, Ramsey County Restorative Justice Girls Program, Circle Keeper Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center & Girls Group Co-facilitator, and Hastings Area Restorative Justice Council, Volunteer. We are both parents
to wonderful, wyse, creative, artistic children and we both have sisterhoods,
wonderful friendships with each other. My husband is a wonderful support and
likewise Kris has wonderful friends who support her journey. We take these tools and our rich life experience and create a wonderful space for women to gather share. Please stay tuned for more wonderful things in the future.
On the subject of Cantadora Journal, She is definitely going to continue, I am just looking now at how that will take place. The system I was using for delivery was time consuming in both creation and delivery. So much so that it was getting in the way of my creative flow. I've recently invested money in a new delivery system that will best support all of my clients (more on that soon) and I am also looking at creating a blog for Cantadora. I'd love to hear your feedback. I also want to take this time to apologize to any of you who have been wondering where in Goddess's name your Journal was! Your patience in the shifts here at WyseWomen will be well worth you wait. I'm in the process of creating lots of wonderful new tools for WyseWomen and those of you in the virtual community and you'll see them posted here soon. Think of it as a baby crowning, lots of room was being made for that head don't ya know! As one way I can apologize to you, here is a link to a wonderful community (besides ours) where you can get some more of your Goddess ~ Sisterhood needs meet. http://www.thegoddessnetwork.net Enjoy ! I'll post more updates as I have them. Blessings and Namaste,
Nellie
